10 Best Indian Web Series to Binge on a Rainy Day

Nothing beats the combo of good rain and a better show. When the streets are wet and you’ve got nowhere to be, it’s the perfect excuse to curl up and stream something solid. If your watchlist’s looking a little dry, these Indian web series will sort you out.

Sacred Games (Crime Drama)

One of those series that pretty much everyone was talking about for a reason. Mumbai’s underworld, crooked cops, politics, and power games, it’s all here. Nawazuddin Siddiqui takes each scene, and the city’s bleak, rain-washed roads feel like an additional character within the story. At the same time, it also explores a lot of complicated themes, like destiny and the choices that a person makes in their life. You’ll love the action scenes. People just fell in love with the dark premise. You’ll get hooked fast.

Delhi Crime (Crime, Reported Story)

This one doesn’t pull any punches. Based on a real case that shook the country, it follows the police hunt for the culprits in the aftermath of a brutal crime. Shefali Shah is outstanding, and the way the show handles sensitive material is rare to see. Heavy stuff, but worth every minute.

Typewriter (Horror, Thriller)

Old houses, ghost stories, and a group of kids on a mission, it’s like those classic childhood horror tales but with a Goan twist. Typewriter dishes out the chills without going over the top, letting the eerie moments sneak up on you. That gloomy, rain-soaked backdrop cranks up the creep factor, making it the perfect pick for a midnight scare with the lights off and thunder rumbling outside.

Kota Factory (Slice of Life, Drama)

Anyone who’s been through stressful exams will feel this one in their bones. It’s a story of students trying to crack the IIT exams. The characters are honest, the humour is dry, and it captures the grind better than most shows even attempt. If you’ve ever tried for a government exam in your life, you know the feeling. At the same time, it also deals with the friends an aspirant makes along the way. Watch it especially for the performances of Jitendra and Vaibhav, who bring the series to life.

The Family Man (Action, Comedy-Drama)

Manoj Bajpayee slips into the role of a regular dad with a not-so-regular job, handling covert ops by day and dodging family drama by night. It’s sharp and packed with a lot of tense moments. The action scenes feel real and unpolished, and Bajpayee brings his usual effortless charm to the mix. Spy thrillers are not very common in India. But when they’re well done, they just knock it out of the park. Well, you can say that The Family Man is one such show, created by the masters of the craft, Raj and DK.

Bard of Blood (Spy Thriller)

For those who like their thrillers with rogue agents and double agents, Bard of Blood delivers plenty of both. Emraan Hashmi is dragged back into dangerous territory for one last job, and everything goes sideways from there. Gritty visuals and tight pacing make this an easy satiate. This is yet another thriller, though not as slow-paced as the previous one. You need to make sure you have some knowledge of political scenarios before watching this series.

Masaba Masaba (Dramedy)

When the world outside looks washed-out and miserable, this show’s a bright little escape. Loosely built around designer Masaba Gupta’s life, it’s light, a bit quirky, and sneaks in more heart than you’d expect. Think fashion chaos, tangled love lives, and the kind of humour that feels like a good eye-roll with a grin.

Special OPS (Action-Spy, Thriller)

This is for those who like fast plots and high-stakes missions. Special OPS follows a veteran agent chasing a terrorist across years and borders, with plenty of twists and narrow escapes. It’s slickly shot, tightly written, and keeps the pressure up from the first episode.

Ghoul (Horror, Sci-fi)

Short, grim, and genuinely unsettling. Set in a futuristic detention facility where something other than prisoners lurks in the shadows, Ghoul mixes horror and dystopian paranoia well. Radhika Apte nails her role, and the story wastes no time getting under your skin. One of the earliest Netflix Originals, Ghoul, will make your skin crawl with horror. Be warned, some scenes can be very disturbing indeed. Do not watch with your family at any cost.

Mira, Royal Detective (Family, Mystery)

For anyone with kids around or if you just need something cheerful after all that darkness, Mira, Royal Detective is a solid pick. It’s bright, upbeat, and packed with catchy tunes and little mysteries to solve. A good one to have on when the rain won’t let up and everyone’s stuck indoors.

Wrapping it Up

Rainy days were made for this kind of watching. Whether you’re into ghost stories, gritty crime sagas, or just need a fun series to pass a lazy afternoon, there’s something on this list to suit the mood. Save this for your next stormy weekend.
